Barefoot Resort & Golf is a planned resort community in North Myrtle Beach along the Intracoastal Waterway. It is built around four golf courses, by Dye, Fazio, Love and Norman, which all opened on April 13, 2000. The Barefoot Resort Residential Association represents 26 original neighborhoods on about 2,300 acres, from single-family homes to golf villas, low-rise condos and townhomes. Other Barefoot properties, including North Tower, the Yacht Club Villas and the Barefoot Marina, belong to a separate Non-Residential Association. Association owners can use a private oceanfront Beach Cabana, a beach shuttle and the North Tower pool. City of North Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue Station 5 is inside the resort. Before choosing a home, confirm which association governs it and which amenities come with it.

Does every Barefoot home belong to the same association?
No. The Barefoot Resort Residential Association (BRRA) covers the original 26 neighborhoods. North Tower, the Yacht Club Villas, The Retreat at Barefoot Village and other properties belong to the separate Non-Residential Association, and the association says some Barefoot neighborhoods are not BRRA-affiliated.

BRRA owners have private, key-fob access to an oceanfront Beach Cabana at 4611 South Ocean Boulevard in North Myrtle Beach. It has owner parking, showers and a kitchen, and a shuttle runs between Barefoot and the beach.

The Residents' Club, with a pool, fitness room, courts and a playground, is limited to ten single-family neighborhoods, including Bridle Ridge, Brookstone and Somerset. The North Tower pool is open to BRRA and NRA owners, their families and guests.
Are the golf courses part of the association?
No. The four courses, by Dye, Fazio, Love and Norman, are owned and operated independently of the Barefoot associations. They still pay dues to the BRRA and have voting power there.
