North Myrtle Beach is a Horry County city on the northern Grand Strand, formed in 1968 when the separate beach towns of Cherry Grove, Ocean Drive, Crescent Beach and Windy Hill came together; those four names still label seats on City Council. The city's Parks and Grounds division manages more than 240 beach accesses, and Main Street hosts the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade & Festival, which the city calls the largest parade on the Grand Strand.
